The entire Kendalwood Montessori School would like to extend our congratulations to our very own Elementary classroom, who, through their hard work, were featured on durhamregion.com’s “Have you heard?” section as a result of their efforts in raising $450 to donate to the WWF and World Vision.

The article stated:

“- The elementary class at Kendalwood Montessori School recently hosted a “Save the Polar Bears” bake sale at school after taking in a presentation from the World Wildlife Fund. Students baked their own goodies for the event, which raised $450. They donated $200 to WWF and $250 to World Vision.”

Hello Kendalwood families,

We have enjoyed a great day full of exploration and fun in the sun! The instructor from CLOCA took each class on a hike to introduce us to several animals, insects, and growing plants and flowers. We also used our senses to help us gain an understanding of what happens to animals and plants each season, with a focus on the Springtime.

We loved everything we saw, including the rivers, ponds, beaver house, and new life in the ground and trees. I’m sure there are a lot of stories to share with you all!

Please remember to:

- Bring your outdoor shoes and rain boots when necessary

- Rotate your child’s extra clothing bag for seasonal attire

- Dress in layers so that your child can easily add or remove outerwear as needed

- Wear sunscreen and bring an extra water bottle as the temperature rises

Thank you to our amazing staff for helping organize the event and preparing the gifts for each child’s guest.

The tea was a great success because of each and every one of you!

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” -John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Thank you to all our friends, family members and those who we may not know. On this day, we remember and honour the bravery of all veterans and soldiers as you have, are, and will fight for our freedom and peace.

Lest we forget.
